It all begins with a story and a big heart

Brothers4Brothers is a youth-driven mentorship program dedicated to breaking the stigma surrounding men's mental health while fostering a supportive brotherhood. Founded in response to personal experiences with mental health challenges, our mission extends beyond awareness to include practical support and skill-building for young men aged 14 to 21. Our program encompasses weekly mentorship sessions, financial literacy workshops, leadership development, and career planning, equipping participants with the tools they need to thrive. Through social media campaigns, community posters, workshops, and webinars, we aim to normalize conversations around mental health and provide a safe space for young men to share their stories, seek help, and build resilience. At Brothers4Brothers, we believe in the power of community, understanding, and empowerment to transform lives and create a brighter future for all.

Brothers4Brothers was inspired by the personal journey of our founder, Nebiyou Timotewos. Born in Hawassa, Ethiopia, Nebiyou faced numerous challenges, including the loss of two siblings and upheaval caused by his father's diplomatic career. His family endured war in Yemen, a period of living in a shelter in Canada, and the loss of multiple loved ones during the pandemic. When his family sought therapy, Nebiyou initially refused, believing that seeking help would diminish his character as a man. This mindset caused him years of internal struggle until he finally sought therapy, which transformed his life. Motivated by his experiences, he created Brothers4Brothers to build a supportive space and connect young men to the resources and support they need to prioritize their mental well-being and build a resilient future.
